Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted burglary following an incident in Winsford.
At around 12.10am on Tuesday 17th March, officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit were called to reports of suspicious activity at an address on Saxon Crossway.
The caller reported a man outside the address with a torch who was trying to gain access to the property.
Officers swiftly attended the address and on arrival they discovered a man in the garden wearing a balaclava.
The 34-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and remains in custody at this time.
Inspector Paul Heatley, of Northwich LPU, said:
“We understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause, and I hope that the swift arrest will provide some reassurance to local residents and the wider community.
“Its important to remember that incidents of this nature are rare in the Winsford area, and we are doing all we can to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions."
