The young musicians of the Congleton Youth Orchestra are rocking towards their next concert, at the Congleton Town Hall, taking place on Sunday 10th December 2023 at 6.00pm.
Rehearsals for the concert are in full swing as they prepare for “A Rocking Great Christmas” programme which will feature items from the pop music genre rearranged for orchestra. The music will include pieces from the Beatles, Elton John, and Queen.
Both the Senior Orchestra and the Intermediate Orchestra featuring their High Flyers group will perform music medleys from the 1980’s up to present day in what promises to be a lively programme culminating in festive carols with the audience joining in.
The concert is sponsored by the Congleton Inclosure Trust.
Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre or Orchestra members.
Congleton Youth Orchestra rehearses at Trinity Methodist Church in Wagg Street, Congleton every Saturday morning during school term time. There are opportunities for children of all abilities from those who have just started to play an instrument to those who have been playing for some time.
