Appeal for witnesses following arson in Congleton

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward following arson in Congleton.

At around 1.30am on Thursday 30th July, officers in Congleton located a car on fire in Wood View Row.

A 26-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of arson and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

As part of their investigation into the incident, officers are appealing for anyone with any information or any witnesses to get in touch with them.

Sergeant Welch said:

“Firstly, we would like to reassure members of the public that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.

“We have made an arrest and as part of our enquiries, we would ask anyone who saw what happened or has captured any CCTV, video doorbell or dashcam footage which may be useful to please contact us.
