Officers from Cheshire Police are appealing for information and dashcam footage following a road rage incident in Northwich.
At approximately 1.15pm on Thursday 5 August a 66-year-old man, and his 17-year-old son, were driving a silver/grey Mercedes down Chester Way from the direction of the roundabout.
As the pair approached the traffic lights, near to the junction of Venables Way, they were involved in an altercation with the driver of a red BMW.
As a result of the incident the 66-year-old driver of the Mercedes sustained a fractured finger. His 17-year-old son also sustained minor injuries.
As part of their investigation officers are now appealing to trace other witnesses – including the driver of a white van which stopped at the scene.
Police Constable Andy Mullin, from Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: “I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident, enquiries are ongoing and officers have already spoken to a number of people in connection to the incident – including the driver of the BMW.
“As part of my investigation I am now appealing for anyone else who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
“This incident occurred while the traffic lights were on red – so we know that there were a number of other motorists present at the time.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to a man who was driving a white van and intervened in the incident.
“The same goes for anyone who was driving past and believes they may have any dashcam footage of the incident.
