An address in Winsford, which was involved in anti-social behaviour and drug use, has been shut down by officers.
A closure order for the address on Wharton Gardens was granted at Chester Magistrates court on Thursday 15 February 2024.
This order comes after officers from the Winsford Beat Management Team provided evidence of a sustained period of associated anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug use at the address.
The closure will last for three months and will be reviewed after this period.
During that period the occupant, a 31-year-old woman, will need to find alternative accommodation.
Following the hearing PC Wayne Thomas said:
“The closure was obtained with the assistance of the local community and the closure will provide welcome respite to the wider community.
“I hope that this closure will serve as a warning that people who choose to behave in this way can lose their homes as a consequence of their actions
“The ASB closure is a stand-alone order which is just one of the tools which are being used by Cheshire Police to tackle criminal activity within the community.
“I would urge anyone who has concerns about ASB-related issues to please report it to us and will do everything we can to tackle it.”
Anyone with concerns about ASB in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via:
