Co-op customers can now help people in Macclesfield with dementia every time they shop.
East Cheshire NHS Charity has recently been announced as one of the partners of the Co-op Community Fund. This means that that one per cent of what Co-op customers, who are also members, spend on own brand products goes straight to the charity.
The latest partnership between the store and the charity runs until October 2024.
All money raised through the partnership will be going towards creating a dementia-friendly garden on Ward 9 at Macclesfield Hospital. The garden will provide a therapeutic space for patients to participate in gardening activities and offer a suitable social environment to enjoy together with their relatives and friends.
Co-op stores at West Park Drive and Westmorland Close are supporting East Cheshire NHS Charity as their nominated charity, although individual members can choose which charity benefits from their one per cent donation regardless of where they shop.
Louise Little, Member Pioneer for Macclesfield West said:
“We are delighted to choose East Cheshire NHS Charity as one of the Co-op local causes for the next year. We look forward to working closely with the charity and helping to raise vital funds to support patients and staff.”
“Supporters, NHS colleagues and patients can sign up as Co-op members and choose East Cheshire NHS Trust as their local cause to help raise vital funds for the Trust and save money for themselves on Co-op products.”
