East Cheshire NHS Trust is hosting a special event later this month, intended to help people better understand how exercise can help them to age better.
The event is the next in a series of ‘Health Matters’ events hosted by the Trust, which manages Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford and District Community Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital and will take place at 6pm on Tuesday 19th November.
The event is titled ‘Exercise, Health and Aging’ and will see Dr Micayla Telfer, Consultant in Acute Medicine, talk about the impact regular exercise in middle age can have on helping to keep you healthy, fit and independent in your older years.
Dr Telfer will also share her own experience of discovering the power of fitness in her 40's and why she calls exercise the ‘elixir of youth’.
The Trust’s Health Matters talks are designed to give the public the opportunity to hear more about the work going on behind the scenes at their local NHS Trust, and to gain knowledge on self-care and wellness.
The events, which used to regularly take place before the pandemic, spotlight the dedicated work of Trust consultants, clinicians, and staff to provide local communities with fantastic healthcare.
Open to the public, the next evening event will take place on Tuesday 19th November 2024 at 6pm in the Lecture Theatre at Macclesfield District General Hospital (SK10 3BL). Attendees can park for free on site at Macclesfield Hospital by providing their registration when they arrive at the event.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event and can register their free place on the East Cheshire NHS Trust website, here:
