Sensory Support Charity DSN Announces Exciting Rebrand

DSN (formerly Deafness Support Network), a cornerstone of sensory support services in Cheshire, North East Wales, and surrounding areas, is proud to announce its rebranding to Deaf and Sensory Network (DSN) at the start of Deaf Awareness Week.

This significant transformation was unveiled at a vibrant launch event hosted at Moxy Chester, showcasing a dynamic new logo and refreshed colour palette while retaining its iconic teardrop icon.

CEO Gill Reeder expressed her excitement about the organisation's bold step into the future.

"We are thrilled to unveil our new identity as Deaf and Sensory Network (DSN), which better reflects the breadth of our commitment and services. This is not just a change of name; it's a reinvigoration of our brand. Our new logo honours our past but pushes us forward, maintaining our familiar colour palette and beloved teardrop, yet each service now enjoys its own distinct colour scheme."

The update extends beyond the logo, touching every facet of the organisation's presence.

Gill Reeder added:

"Our signage at our three offices in Chester, Macclesfield and Northwich, our website, social media platforms, and even our community outreach van have been revitalised with the new logo and colour scheme, ensuring our vision is communicated clearly across all channels," 

Chairman David Fardoe highlighted the inclusive approach taken in the rebranding process:

"It was imperative for us to involve our stakeholders and staff every step of the way. Their invaluable feedback was pivotal in not only retaining the DSN acronym but evolving it to Deaf and Sensory Network. This update reflects both our heritage and our future."

The launch event was graced by the presence of the Deputy Lieutenant Eleanor Underhill and Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Sheila Little, who commended the organisation’s thoughtful approach:

"I am truly honoured to have been part of this launch. The meticulous care and consideration DSN has taken in making this transition are evident. It's inspiring to witness such a forward-thinking change.”

Deputy Lieutenant for Cheshire Eleanor Underhill added:

“It was a fascinating event, and I've learned a lot about the deaf community and DSN which is a most impressive charity, with such a wide range of activities and beneficiaries. Huge congratulations to everyone.”

For 48 years, DSN has been a leader in providing comprehensive sensory support services, including social care, youth programs, and specialist projects. The organisation also offers communication services with BSL interpreters and now, through its incus training arm, provides BSL courses for the public and Deaf Awareness Training for businesses and organisations.

In her closing statement, CEO Gill Reeder reflected on the rebranding:
