Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following an incident at a retail park in Crewe.
At around 3pm on Friday 11th September, an elderly couple were approaching their car which was parked in a disabled space outside Marks and Spencers at Grand Junction Retail Park.
The caller reported that he was opening the passenger door for his disabled wife when another car approached and began beeping his horn.
The driver was signalling towards the couple, urging them to get out of the way so that they could park in an empty space next to the couple.
The couple were startled by the behaviour and as a result the woman fell over and banged her head. The driver of the car subsequently sped off from the scene.
The woman was assisted at the scene by a number of off duty nurses, before being taken to hospital where it was found that she had suffered a bleed on the brain.
The woman remains in hospital at this time.
Enquires in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.
They are also keen to hear from the driver of the car which fled the scene.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 or visit:
