Congleton in Bloom is inviting residents to roll up their sleeves and help prepare the town for this year's RHS Britain in Bloom judging by taking part in its next Town Tidy Day on Saturday 4 July, from 10am–12pm.
Volunteers will meet at the Community Garden, Lawton Street, where activities will include litter picking, weeding and a range of gardening tasks to ensure the town looks its very best ahead of judging.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to take part. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and community spirit. All equipment will be provided, but volunteers are advised to wear sensible clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor work.
So far this year, around 50 volunteers have given their time to support Congleton in Bloom's Town Tidy events, helping to keep the town looking clean, welcoming and full of colour.
Glen Williams, Congleton's dedicated Town Tidy Champion, said:
"It's been fantastic to see around 50 volunteers supporting our Town Tidy events to date, and we're hoping for another great community turnout. The difference volunteers make is incredible, and with Britain in Bloom judging approaching, every helping hand really counts. Whether you can spare half an hour, an hour or the whole morning, we'd love to see you at the Community Garden to help showcase Congleton at its very best."
This year's RHS Britain in Bloom judges will visit Congleton on 15 July, when both Congleton Large Town and the Friends of Congleton Park entries will be judged. The It's Your Neighbourhood entries will then be assessed on 11 and 12 August, recognising the fantastic work of community groups and volunteers across the town.
Anyone interested in getting involved should simply turn up at the Community Garden on Lawton Street from 10am. Whether it's a first-time volunteering or returning to lend a hand, everyone is welcome.
