Officers have arrested a man in Crewe on suspicion of attempted burglary, thanks to information from an eagle-eyed member of the public.
At around 3.30am on Thursday 13th February, police were contacted by a concerned member of the public who reported suspicious activity at the Morrisons Daily Store on Gainsborough Road.
The caller reported that they had witnessed a man climbing over a rear wall. Officers were deployed to the store and on arrival they spotted the man inside the secure service yard at the back of the building.
The 39-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and theft. He remains in police custody where he is assisting officers with their enquires.

“Thanks to information from an eagle-eyed member of the public we’ve arrested a man on suspicion of theft and attempted burglary."
